My name is Natashia Ayres and I am a stay at home parent of two kids, 6 and 3 years old.
My husband Patrick, and I and our kids moved to Wilbraham a little more than a year ago and we love the history and natural beauty of this town. We’ve been blessed to meet so many kind and welcoming residents of Wilbraham this past year.
I’ve studied plant, soil and insect sciences, geography, and business administration at both UMass Amherst and Salem State University.
I’ve had several interesting jobs over the years, including Research Assistant at the Invasive Forest Insects lab at UMass Amherst, Internal Auditing Intern at Eastern Bank, working at Salem State University Alumni Affairs doing constituent data entry and helping with fundraising efforts, and working in Customer Support and Shipping Logistics for a DNA repository in the Boston Area.
As a result of my time in these positions, I’ve gained excellent skills in data and record keeping, communication and collaboration with colleagues, as well as being familiar and comfortable with doing work outdoors. In fact, I love being outside and taking care of the environment.
I am running for Cemetery Commissioner because I have loved cemeteries since I was a small child. They have always felt like such sacred and spiritual places, and I enjoy the peace and beauty of them. I would like to be more involved in my town and be of service to my community. It is meaningful for me to be of assistance to people in their time of need.
I believe that the transition from life to death is universal, important, and deserves kindness, dignity and respect. I look forward to assisting the members of Wilbraham with any of their cemetery needs, and maintaining town cemeteries as beautiful, accessible spaces for people to visit. It will be my honor to assist with burials and other cemetery arrangements for the fine residents of this town.
I hope to continue to learn about and preserve the history of the town that is present in the public cemeteries. Lastly, I am interested in learning how we can manage cemeteries in an ecological and sustainable way for the future, while maintaining their status as important historical and spiritual spaces.
The Wilbraham Democrats are proud to announce our endorsed candidates for the 2025 town elections.
